Small Sword

This is the period piece that we used as our inspiration for our practice small-sword:

Historical Considerations

Since the mid-seventeenth and throughout the eighteenth centuries, the foil has been used as the training instrument for the small-sword. The foil was an important training tool and masters used varying forms and sizes to develop good skills in their students.

Today those interested in the French school of Small-sword often desire the feel of the small-sword itself rather than a foil. Unfortunately, finding and purchasing a well made small-sword at an affordable price can be a daunting task. Very good small-sword replicas are available but only custom made and at premium prices.

Now for the first time a simple austere yet elegantly designed practice small-sword has been developed and constructed providing a lightness, length and balance very close to an actual period piece.

These “Practice Small-swords” are available in three different grip lengths. In order to select the appropriate size, it is best if you use your glove size as a reference point.

Leather grip colors available:

Price at $195.00 each (A small-sword for that price cannot be beat!)
